A search for a possibility of Wolffia arrhiza submerged culturing as a promising subject for biofarming has been carried out. Optimum parameters for this process were selected. The highest biomass productivity of the Wolffia population was achieved using a bioreactor and W3M medium under the following cultivation conditions: temperature, 27—29 °C; pH, 5.7—6.0, and photoperiod, 24/0. A modification of the Biostat PBR 2S bioreactor in order to minimize the plant traumatism during the cultivation was performed.

Key words:  biofarming,  bioreactor,  conditions for in vitro culturing,  Wolffia arrhiza.
