A panel of five hybridomas producing monoclonal antibodies to the cholera toxin (CT) has been designed. The obtained monoclonal antibodies (MCA) induced the ascites development in 100% BALB/c mice and were stably produced during in vivo passages. MCA reacted in GM1-solid-phase ELISA with toxigenic epidemically significant V. cholerae strains of both biovariants. The hybrid lines are promising producers of monoclonal immunoglobulin reagents for design and production of immuno-enzyme test systems for the detection of cholera toxin and toxigenic cholera vibrio strains.
Key words: cholera toxin, hybridoma technology, monoclonal antibodies.
